Dementia landscape project dialogue on care planned for February 2021

A global dialogue in the dementia landscape project series will take place in the new year and will look at advances in care. It will gather international leaders in the field to explore three themes: models of care, burden of caregivers, and art and music in dementia.

Taking place on Friday 5 February 2021, it will be co-chaired by Professor Brian Lawlor, professor of old age psychiatry at Trinity College Dublin, and deputy executive director of the Global Brain Health Institute, and Paul Hogan, co-founder and chairman of Home Instead Senior Care, and a member of the World Dementia Council.

The global project is reviewing international progress towards the 2025 dementia goals. At the G8 dementia summit in 2013, governments pledged to work together to advance research, improve care, raise awareness and prevent dementia. Along with the research workshop, the care workshop and the prevention workshop will bring together global leaders to review progress. In 2021 the Council will publish a report on progress towards the 2025 goals.

The first dialogue in the series, on research, was held last month and focused on early detection and advances in treatments and was co-chaired by Dr Maria Carrillo and Professor Philip Scheltens
