In December 2013 the international dementia community met in London and agreed ambitious goals to develop a disease-modifying therapy, improve care and increase awareness by 2025. Five years on from that summit we will again meet in London to reflect on what has been achieved but to ask what government and the people participating in the summit need to do to accelerate progress. We will explore how we can further improve people’s lives today through better care and improve people’s lives in the future through the development on new treatments.
The summit will be held on Wednesday 5 December in central London and will bring together the global dementia community – including political leaders, innovators, academia, industry, and people with dementia and their care givers. The day will be a combination of plenary sessions and work streams.
The World Dementia Council – supported by Wellcome and Janssen Neuroscience – are delighted to be hosting this London summit.
